Frailty Well-Being Community Session
SWAGGA PCN Champions Well-being for Local Residents
In collaboration with Local Solutions, SWAGGA PCN is making a positive impact on the lives of frail members of the South Liverpool community by supporting special well-being sessions. These sessions, delivered by Local Solutions, address a range of needs, fostering social interaction, promoting physical activity, and even offering mental well-being support.
Recognising the importance of social connection, the sessions provide opportunities for participants to come together and combat feelings of isolation. This focus on socialisation can significantly enhance emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
The sessions also emphasise the importance of maintaining mobility. Gentle exercises and activities are incorporated to help participants stay active and preserve their physical health.
Furthermore, recognising the link between physical and mental well-being, the sessions address mental health concerns as well. Through various tools and resources, participants are empowered to manage stress and improve their overall emotional well-being.
A unique aspect of these sessions is the inclusion of Tai Chi, a low-impact form of exercise that combines gentle physical movements with mindfulness and meditation. Tai Chi has been shown to be beneficial for improving balance, flexibility, and strength, all of which are important for maintaining mobility and reducing the risk of falls in frail populations.
By supporting these Local Solutions Frailty Well-being Community Sessions, SWAGGA PCN demonstrates their commitment to the comprehensive health and well-being of the South Liverpool community. These sessions offer a valuable resource for frail residents, promoting social connection, physical activity, mental well-being, and a path to a healthier and happier life.
