Are you afraid of your partner?
Do you change your behaviour out of fear when with your partner?
Does your partner check up on where you are or follow you?
Has your partner stopped you, or tried to stop you from seeing family
and friends?
If you answered yes you may be in an abusive relationship.
You are not alone
Always call 999 in an emergency
Silent Solution (Call 999 safely)
If you cannot speak to the police, you can still dial 999. Listen carefully to the operator’s
questions and respond by making a noise, such as coughing or tapping the handset. When
calling from a mobile, you may be prompted to press 55. This lets the operator know it is a
genuine emergency, and you will be connected to the police. Important: If the operator does
not hear any response, they may end the call.
