Breast Screening
Getting regular breast screening is one of the best ways to detect breast cancer early—often before you notice any changes yourself. The main screening test is a mammogram.
Who should be screened?
In the UK, women aged 50 to 71 are invited for breast screening every 3 years through the NHS.
Higher risk of breast cancer?
Some women may need earlier or more frequent screening, particularly if they have:
· A strong family history of breast cancer
· Certain genetic factors
If you think you may be at higher risk, speak to your GP to discuss the right screening plan for you.
Don’t Delay Get Screened Today!
Even if you attend screening, it’s important to check your breasts regularly and contact your GP promptly if you notice any changes, such as:
· Lumps or swelling
· Changes in shape or size
· Skin dimpling or nipple changes
